Laura has been treating hand and upper extremity patients for over 25 years and has been a Certified Hand Therapist since 2000. Laura continues to challenge herself in the profession with continuing education including certification in Kinesio Taping and is working towards becoming a Certified Orthopaedic Manual Therapist (COMT) through IAOM. Laura’s hobbies include camping, boating, and anything outdoors with her husband and two teenage boys.

Rachael has experience from a wide variety of settings, concluding that her passion lies in orthopedic therapy of the hand. She likes challenging cases and customizing the plan of care to maximize recovery. In her free time she enjoys time with family and friends.

Renae was an Army brat and has lived a little everywhere. Renae loves the low country area and has lived here the longest. She has raised three grown children that she loves dearly. Renae has been working in the hand therapy world for most of her 25 years as an occupational therapist assistant.

Erin earned a Master of Health Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Augusta University in 2021. Since graduation, she has worked in outpatient orthopedics to continue pursuing her passion in hand and upper extremity therapy and is currently working towards a Certification in Hand Therapy (CHT). Erin enjoys spending time with her husband and their two dogs, visiting family and friends, and enjoying all the delicious food and good weather in Charleston.

Kim has been working in outpatient orthopedics since graduating from MUSC 25 years ago. She has earned multiple specialty certifications including her orthopedic certified specialist proficiency from the APTA, advanced certification in manual therapy and trigger point dry needling. She has served the profession on the local, state and national level through the APTA and has been a member of the professional organization since 1997. Her career has included the growth and development of multiple PT clinics and clinicians in the TriCounty area including opening Axis Hand and Physical Therapy with SCSM in December of 2017. When not in the clinic, she can be found judging competitive gymnastics and coaching her youngest daughter in competitive All-star cheerleading. Though a graduate of Furman (go Dins!) Two of her three daughters go to Clemson so- Go Tigers!!! She lives with her husband of 30 years, her 3 daughters, 2 dogs, 2 cats and a yard full of chickens!

Nic graduated from Shenandoah University in 2010 with a BS in Kinesiology – Exercise Science, Minor in Biology and Certificate in Coaching. He spent the next 3 years working as a Fitness Specialist/Personal Trainer in medical wellness, general fitness and CrossFit settings, prior to returning to PT school. He graduated from Shenandoah University Division of Physical Therapy in 2016 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Immediately following PT school, He completed his Orthopedic Manual Therapy Residency through the Virginia Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy Institute. Nic is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy; He has completed IAMT Dry needling Level 1& 2 and is certified in Blood Flow Restriction. Nic has also mentored residency candidates, new graduates and is actively involved in clinical instruction for PT students.

Outside of the clinic Nic is active in his church community and spends every possible moment having adventures with his daughter, Brooks!

Jodie Prasher has been practicing physical therapy for 16 years and still loves what she’s doing. She graduated from University of Michigan for undergraduate and Grand Valley State University for graduate school. She started her career in Charlotte and Winston Salem, NC, before moving to Charleston in 2012. She received her manual therapy certification in 2013 from the Manual Therapy Institute. Specialty skills include manual therapy, dry needling, balance training, TMJ dysfunctions, vestibular conditions, and post-operative rehab. In her free time she loves to run, hang out with friends & family, read a good book or watch a good show, and play with her pup, Millie.

Emma Singleton has been practicing as a PTA in the outpatient orthopedic field since graduating from Trident Technical College in 2023. Emma is passionate about building personable relationships and seeing the growth of her patients from the start to graduation day. Emma specializes in Level 1, Blood Flow Restriction. She enjoys spending her time outside, running, hiking, or playing pickle ball with her Fiancé. She also enjoys spending quality time with her friends and family.

Rebekah was born and raised in the Charleston area. She graduated from MUSC in 2004, giving her over 20 years of experience. She is certified in trigger point dry needling, but has also received training in needling homeostatic neurotrigger points. She is McKenzie trained, and is good at getting to the root of the problem. She integrates taping when appropriate for pain management and stability. She also treats vestibular issues as well. With her diverse trainings, she has been asset to Axis since 2021.

When not in the clinic, she enjoys hanging out with her 3 kids, working out, playing volleyball with her daughters, taking walks, and going to the beach.

Boonie is a local to the Summerville area and she graduated from Trident Tech in 2021. She has been practicing as a licensed PTA in the outpatient orthopedic setting since. She is constantly working to grow in the practice and further her education to better serve her patients. Her passion is to make a difference in the life of every patient she works with and assist them in reaching their goals to return to what they love doing. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her loved ones and playing music with her family and friends.

Megan has been serving the Charleston area in outpatient orthopedics for 20 years. A graduate from MUSC in 2004, she brings two decades of expertise, mentorship, and leadership in the field. As a mentor for the MUSC PT residency program for orthopedics and a dedicated member of the APTA, she holds an advanced board certification in orthopedics. Megan specializes in manual therapy techniques, including dry needling, to help her patients achieve pain relief and maintain active lifestyles. Her approach is holistic, utilizing certifications in FMS and SFMA to assess and treat patients as a whole, ensuring comprehensive care beyond the affected area. Outside of the clinic, Megan enjoys staying active through exercise, indulging in good books, and spending quality time with her husband Taylor and their two boys.

Areas of specialty/ Specialty certifications: Certified in Manual therapy and dry needling. The majority of my experience has been in the outpatient setting working in orthopedics. This has included all types of injuries and pain issues from a variety of diagnoses . However, I also see sports injuries of all types, non-surgical and surgical. I enjoy working with athletes of all types including tennis and pickle ball players, soccer players, and runners. I see total joint replacements of the knee, hip, shoulder ; spine issues, and deconditioned patients.
What you like to do in your time off (something about you): I enjoy spending time with my family and friends traveling and being outdoors. My husband and I have 3 girls and 2 dogs. I enjoy working out, playing tennis, boating, kayaking, going to the beach, walking and hiking on trails, and biking. You can usually find me outside being active.

Tyler McCarter is a physical therapist assistant with 6+ years of experience specializing in outpatient orthopedics. Her passion for patient care drives her to deliver positive experiences with exceptional outcomes. She will have you smiling on your hardest day of physical therapy up until your last. She graduated from the PTA program as Class President from Trident Technical College in 2018. She holds advanced certifications for various manual interventions as well as rehabilitating total joint replacements, post operative shoulders, Pelvis Pro, and blood flow restriction training. She enjoys working with a wide variety of patients from sports athletes to the elderly population and getting you back to doing what you love.

Laura has been in the heath care field for over 35 years, her background as a military wife has been extensive and varied from coast to coast. Certifications include San Francisco Spine institute with her fellowship training, Certified manual therapist, as well as a Pilate’s instructor

She began her PT career at a young age caring for her sister with Cystic Fibrosis; Laura understood that a compassionate and dedicated health care professional can make a positive difference in the life of many.

Outside interests include time with her family, 2 adult daughters and husband of 36 years. She is active and plays tennis, pickleball, you’ll find her in church, the gym lifting and on the bike paths. She is basically anywhere besides doing housework.

She is also busy planning her wedding for March 2025. Anissa is dedicated to providing quality care to her patients at Axis while practicing what she preaches.

Lauren is passionate about treating patients holistically and improving their quality of life by encouraging enjoyable physical activities.

Passion for working with various athletes or individuals who like to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle. Former collegiate baseball player so I take pride in working with throwing athletes to help correct form or imbalances. I would like to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning specialist to assist with my PTA background.

In my spare time I like to play golf, fish, hunt, or hang out with family and friends. I am also a high school pitching coach in the local area.

Areas of specialty/ Specialty certifications: Wound care certified, Vestibular rehabilitation certified, specializing in total joint replacement post operative rehabilitation. I spent time in short term rehab facilities and have experience treating a variety of diagnosis. The majority of my experience is in the home setting working with patients with joint replacements to regain strength and functional mobility in order to get them back to enjoying life.

I enjoy spending time with family, mother to five daughters and one granddaughter. I enjoy exercise, walking my two dogs, spending time in my flower garden, and watching my youngest cheer at her high school football games.

Tamara Cribb is local to the Charleston area. She graduated from Trident Technical College in 2003 and has been practicing for over 20 years around the area. She enjoys working in outpatients orthopedics and helping local high school and college athletes return to their sports. Outside of the clinic she enjoys spending time with her family at the lake, gamecock football, and camping/outdoors.

Tori has been a PTA in outpatient physical therapy since graduating from the PTA program at Olympic College in Washington state in 2015. Prior to PTA school, she graduated with her bachelor’s in Rehabilitation science from Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, GA. Tori loves creating relationships with her patients and teaching them how the body functions. When she’s not treating post operative home patients, Tori can be found filling in at Axis clinics. In her free time, she loves spending time with her husband and daughter, reading a good book, or coordinating children's ministry at Summerville Baptist Pinewood Campus.

Lilly has never met a stranger and loves to travel. She is fluent in four languages and currently mastering the art of communicating with teens and preteens (her own mostly).  

Lilly holds a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology with minor in Sports Medicine from National Sports Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria. This led her to pursue her PTA degree from Trident Technical College in 2012. She was voted “Most likely to dance during treatment” by her classmates. Most recently she acquired a Certificate of Orthopedic Excellence of the Spine, Lower and Upper Quarter from the APTA. In her younger days, Lilly was a competitive Rhythmic Gymnast, who eventually “retired” and joined the circus, where she enjoyed a short-lived career as an aerialist. With her extensive athletic background and excellent education, she is able to apply multidirectional approach when addressing kaleidoscope of diagnosis.  

Lilly has been known to favor outpatient orthopedics, but also dabbled in vestibular and inpatient rehabilitation settings. For the last seven years, Lilly has been the pillar of PRN coverage and is readily available to save the day, whenever and wherever she is needed. You may find her in any one of our Axis clinics, often laughing, sometimes crying along with her patients, but always encouraging and energetic. Her passion for the profession, the patients and their healing are infectious.
